Asking a big favour for anyone in or near Hertfordshire :)
Hi there,
This is my first time posting here! A few of you may have heard about my poor Marilyn who was stolen and burnt out in Huddersfield last month.
I have been looking out for another Minor since then-whilst waiting for my insurance to get sorted-and have found one that was listed on ebay over the weekend-in Hertfordshire-I was wondering if there was anyone local who could go and look her over for me please?
If you'd be happy to do that I would be ever so grateful!
Thank you,
Holly

It's a long way away... is there not one closer to home? Just thinking it's always best to see and test drive the car yourself to know exactly what you're buying... and then you're going to have to drive an unknown car all the way back.
Sorry to hear about your loss and glad it hasn't put you off classics.

Ideally I would go myself-I'm just a total sucker for the colour! If it's meant to be it's meant to be I suppose!
If not hopefully another will appear near by!

How did you guess?
-I've seen a few recently for sale in Hertfordshire-I'm guessing it's because of the colour?

I quite like the look of this one and it's very close by! I have emailed the seller asking for photos of the underside- though I would go and view it obviously! Also asking what the reserve is set at as if it's too high there's not point looking!

Colour aside I'd certainly want a closer look at the rear quarter of the Pink/Lilac one. It has quite a bit of rust where the roof joins the body. This is usually sign of a leaking rear window and the rust is coming through. Check inside boot area under window. If you haven't got a garage this may be a problem in the future.
The blue one doesn't have many photos but is nearer you to view, and will not cost so much to bring home (petrol?)!
Also pleased you haven't given up on moggy ownership. Good luck with your search.

The blue one looks better and has a 12 month MoT.
I've never seen it trundling around Halifax though, but it's Dean Clough where I am mostly.

Isn't that numberplate an Ex Metropolitan Police series?HollyMoggy wrote:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221072663934? ... 1423.l2649

If so, it would explain the rust around the roof join area!
One to avoid in my opinion!

I was supposed to view the one in Halifax but he sold it for the full asking price in cash an hour before I was due :/ I couldn't have offered that so ho hum! Clearly not meant to be!
Both have full 12 months MOT. It has been suggested the pink one may well be an ex-police car. We shall see!
Thanks folks!
