Water Pump Fungus!

Post by Boomlander »

Hi All,
Does anyone else suffer from this white crystal deposit that keeps appearing on Jethro's water pump?
There are no leaks yet a few days after I brush it off it reappears! :-?[frame]Image[/frame]

Try a smear of Vaseline once you have cleaned it off.

Turns out it is Efflorescence, similar to that which appears on new buildings when the salts in the masonry leach out into the air. It can happen with certain alloys as well such as the Moggie water pump! :D

It happened all the time on my old Allegro, nothing to worry about as others members have said.

Consider it to be aging gracefully!
