Cleaning engine bay?
Hi guys,
Just wondering how to clean the engine bay without a steam cleaner?
What, if any, products should I use?
Thanks

Bucket of really hot water. Wring out clean cloth. Mr Muscle spray de-greaser (or any make) sprayed onto a cloth. This enables you to get between the cables/wires without dislodging anything - (cloth on one finger behind cables on bulkhead etc.

Gunk or similar and stiff brush for really oily bits and if you can rig your hose up to the hot tap, even better for rinsing. Don't use parafin if you are on a tarmac drive, it will dissolve the tar.

WD40 will spray the drit and grease off. Spray some on, scrub, wash off with water. Use a toothbrush.

Use a lolly stick or similar to dig out and scrape off any large accretions of crud.
Otherwise they will just soak up what ever solvent you use.

Re: Cleaning engine bay?
Well, I have wd40'd the oil off to see what is tidy and what is tatty and now I'm going to rub down and prime the areas with surface rust and get the primer sprayed over during the respray later on, so it's not that much effort for a shinney engine bay touch wood!
