This is the reluctant sale of our beloved "Little Green Monster" Morris Minor Lowlight race car, thought to be the oldest racing Morris Minor in the world. The car has been a race car for most of its life being hill climbed and sprinted from the early 1960's later being campaigned on racing circuits. We acquired the car after being laid up in a barn for many years, the car was totally stripped down and the body acid dipped prior to being totally restored with new floor panels, sills, chassis leg repair sections, cross member and inner wing repair panels plus lower door repair panels. The shell was then painted and rebuilt with as many of the original parts as possible but uprated to current race regulations.
The car runs a 998 A series full race engine with a close ratio gearbox and limited slip differential. The rear axle is fitted with uprated halfshafts and has been modified with slight negative camber and located by a canard rod and anti tramp bars. The front torsion bars have been replaced with uprated units and the brakes converted to Midget discs and callipers with a front anti roll bar. The wheel are Weller steel units and fitted with Dunlop historic racing rubber.
This car has been campaigned with both the Masters and HRDC resulting in the odd class win and many class awards, the car also competed at the 2008 Goodwood Revival meeting when its nominated second driver was Mr Brian Redman and the car will be eligible for the 2014 Revival. The race car comes with a small amount of spares including two spare wheels and tyres.
Should you require any further information please call Ian on 07775 603706, also this car is featured with a full feature in this months edition of Retro Cars magazine.
The sale is cash on collection or if by cheque the car will only be released on cleared funds and please remember you are biding to buy not view and haggle.
The car will come with a full MOT and taxed but we recommend that the car is trailered away.
Happy biding
