Morris Marina A+?
Anyone know what this engine is from and how ambitious it would be to pop in a Minor? Listed as a Marina but apparently they never went A+.

It's a Marina engine alright - easy enough to fit a Minor, although backplate is missing (need to modify the 1098 one) and you would need to modify the Minor flywheel to fit..... It's got no head - and it's expensive at £300.........

Re: Morris Marina A+?
...so Marinas did have A+ engines? What is a sensible price for a bit of kit like that?
Thanks
Thanks

I think you will find that marinas went A+ when marinas went ital!

looks like a regular 1275 to me, not an A+. So not worth the money!

As Les says, it's an Ital engine. The A+ was supposed to be an improvement and heralded BL's venture into the space age and beyond, with the Maestro's digital dash and all that.les wrote:I think you will find that marinas went A+ when marinas went ital!
Presumably they were a good engine as you never see a Metro with a smoking exhaust. Then again they probably dissolved long before the engine wore out.

Looking at the picture I tend to agree with Chris.
Re: Morris Marina A+?
Oh yes - it's not an A+ - but the difference was so small as to be insignificant anyway.

Re: Morris Marina A+?
If it turns over ok and the bores look good -I would go £100 for it - without head.
