Home zinc plating kits

I expect a few people have seen those home-brew plating kits on Ebay. I decided to try one for plating nuts and bolts etc. Well, they seem to work alright.

Degreased, glass bead blasted, lightly sanded to remove surface staining and ...[frame]Image[/frame]

I later polished it with Silvo and it came to quite a shine. I may buy the nickel plating add-on kit.

I guess the problem is getting the plating to 'stick'. Not everyone has bead blasting gear...... Do they supply any etch acids and/or cyanides with the kit??
