Chassis Number location

Does anyone have any idea WHEN BMC started stamping Minors' chassis numbers into the drivers' side footwell, as opposed the engine bay bulkhead?

mine is a 69 2 door and has the number on th floor

I have a '68 with the chassis stamped into the o/s footwell - anything earlier than '68?

1965/6 has been quoted!

Mine is a '67 and it's in the floor! :D

Does the chassis nos - plate on b/head - have an 'M' suffix?

Research is 51% tedium + 49% contemplation!
