dum dum replacement

Post by crankshaft »

I have been doing a partial restoration of my Traveller which has involved removing and replacing the rear section. I managed to get the last tin of dum dum from Leadbetter's of Lancahire, but unfortunately there wasn't enough to finish the job. I have got some 3M strip caulk but it is quite a different product. Does any one know of any secret stashes of dum dum or a different product which is more similar?

Yes it seems to be unavailable now, I,ve got a tin of Glasticon( I think I've spelt it right) which is the same but again it may not be around anymore. Maybe google it?

I got someone to bring me over a 1kg tin last year - still got most of it and will cherish it.

The address on the tin is :
A.R. Davies,
1 Royston Road,
Baldock,
Hertfordshire
SG7 6XT
Tel: 01462 892304/894339

They still seem to be in Baldock according to the phone book. What about ESM or the other suppliers ??

Hope you have luck finding some - keep us informed please. We don't seem to have an equivalent here in France - know a chap who's restoring a Peugeot 203 who'd love to have some.

Good luck
