Mine is called Betsy Blue.

she's a Trafalgar Blue saloon. The previous owner had this weird idea that saloons were male, whereas enny fule kno that saloons are female and Travellers are male - so "Bertie Blue" became "Betsy Blue". It was going to be Betty Blue until someone on here helpfully pointed out that that was the title of a French porn film.... which would have gone down well with some members of my congregation... perhaps I ought to re-phrase that... ;-)

My MM Convertible is called 'the shed' as I found it in a back garden and now I am storing parts in it for its eventual rebuild.

Mine is called Yoda, the reason being i am going to spray it green and it being old kind of fitted and my good lady is a massive muppets fan which pleased her as Frank Oz does the voice for Yoda, ticks all the boxes. :D

your joking? I actually have a habit of opening the internal garage door and saying 'night' to my car before bed. Though I do understand this may seem a little strange.

It's when the car says 'night' too that you need to worry

Our first 'recent' Minor (as opposed to the bangers I had as a youngster) was Abigail, reasons lost in the mists of time. Then came Beatty, my BT van, followed by Carrie the convertible, Dixon the panda car (you have to be of a certain age to 'get' that one!), Emily and Felicity were a couple of two-door saloons I had briefly, Gizmo was a ratty Traveller I bought for spares, and Harriett was a 'loaner' I had while waiting for the current car to be finished. This one is Imogen, because I didn't like 'Iris' and I couldn't come up with another 'I'. I'm hoping not to get to Z... :D

I'd never thought about naming any car until I purchased my 1962 2 door Morrie, and the seller told me his wife called it Maude. So Maude it is; and all being well, a nice man will be picking her up in a week or two to make her fully roadworthy.

My car is called Xavier but I am not always polite to him. Occasionally I have been known to say, "You really can be a total s**t Xavier! It's never enough is it? There's always something else wrong!".
1969 1098cc Convertible “Xavier” which I have owned since 1989.

Some people name their cars after the numberplate letters (e.g. PTE is an obvious prompt for 'Pete') or just choose a name they like - often female to reflect the generous curves of the Minor

Our Traveller is Alfred. It already had that name when we bought it, named after the grandfather of the lad who completely restored it. Since Jayne wanted a boy we kept the name which he was quite pleased about.

Was called "Monty" by the family we bought him off, so "Monty" he shall stay. I would have made him a her and called it "Martha" but much easier to keep the name he had. 1968 2 door in Trafalgar Blue.
Keep on driving your Moggies everyone. :D
