Can you please tell me what the orange bulb is on the speedo dial above the blue main beam bulb?
Is it important? as mine dose not seem to be wired up.

Black faced later speedo head. Blue is high beam warning, red ignition/charging, mid right amber low oil pressure. There is another amber lamp horizontally opposite the low oil press. Presume this must be filter differential warning - not connected on my car - screw on filter.

Yes, this was for a 'blocked oil filter' warning light which was
not used on the later 1098 cars. It first appeared around OCtober
1964.

If your indicator warning light fails on end of stalk, as mine has, this now unused light makes a handy replacement.

You may find, as I did, that some pilchard has stuck the old, broken cover on with glue. In which case you may end up replacing the stalk* (as I will when I get time, and take the dash out to put the new one in....).
* I managed to get most of the glue out then cracked the darn black bit trying to get the last bits of glued in green cover out of the threads so I could put the new end in. Grr.
