Hi can i Please have some advice on Changing a Bonnet hinge on a 1960 minor 1000. Passenger side.
And Do you know the size of the nuts.

Unscrew nuts - remove old hinge - place new hinge - fit nuts....... Simples ! 7/16" AF fits IIRC

Remove glove boxes to undo body nuts, cover the wings to prevent scratches, get help to support the bonnet whilst you change the hinges and check which is left and right before you fit them

And if you have uneven gaps between bonnet and wings and youve tried everything else, while you have the old hinges off enlarge the mounting holes so you get a bit more sideways adjustment.

I also add copious amounts of sealer to the stud from the underside so that when the nut and washer goes on the hole is totally watertight,the little gaskets don't ever look up to the job to me. Also do the same on all the backs of the fittings on the boot lid,

I have put the hinge on now But only just read your advice on useing sealer as well.
Hinge is on now so fingers crossed . But will now Keep an eye on it for future leaks.
