diff pinion nut size

diff pinion nut size

Can anyone confirm this nut size as 1 1/8 AF please, I'm trying to change the seal as mines leaking, any advice on changing said seal would be welcome!!!! :D

The nut size is correct. I have never changed that seal. It is described in the workshop manual Section HH.3. That nut is very tightly torqued to 140 ft-lbs.

You will need to wedge the pinion against the ground with a steel bar -possible just jammed between two bolts - or drill two holes and bolt it to the pinion flange.

Cheers Dudes, I know 140ft/lb is the correct torque, but an old mechanic told me " feel how hard it is to take off, then tighten it back to that and 1 more grunt"

You will certainly need a good long bar on a T handle - NOT the ratchet handle !!
