Item 60 here..... http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/Shop/ViewP ... exID=17070 but amazing cost!! Why on earth do you need to buy one ? They last 'for ever'. Note that the later A+ 1275 engines have a different dizzy drive shaft.. Ask in 'wanted' - I'm sure someone will have a spare shaft - and i would say £5 is plenty to pay for one !

Re: spindle- distributor drive
If it is the drive shaft you are after (as bmcecosse referred to), just get one from a scrap a-series engine, all the pre A-plus ones are the same. They don't usually wear, unless like me, you have a brand new billet camshaft with such poor machining quality on the helical gear that it chews it to shreds...

Re: spindle- distributor drive
Exactly- and it ruined the brand new mains and big ends. No fault was admitted by the manufacturer, but cam was replaced FOC, and then blow me if the new cam didn't have the exact same fault. I was told that it was obviously due to 'harmonics' in the engine, and couldn't possibly be a faulty part. After the second engine rebuild, I got hold of a new-old stock MG Metro cam and lo and behold, all problems have disappeared. Unfortunately, it's just another case of rubbish aftermarket parts, although in this case being sold by a company with an excellent reputation... Needless to say, the whole episode has cost me a fortune in time and money- not to mention several chewed-up distributor drive shafts!
