main beam flasher switch installation
hello. i am trying to install a push switch to the main beam lights so that when i push the switch they will flash on and off, but that the original switch will still work. i have tried connecting to the blue/white wire and earthing it but i get nothing, and although i'm sure this is a really simple thing to do, i'm stuck. if anyone could draw me a simple diagram/help me at all, i'd really appreciate it. thanks

Re: main beam flasher switch installation
Can't help really but some alter the wiring at the light switch so that the first position is the headlamps this allows you to switch the Headlamps on/off quite quickly.
It can't be impossible todo as you suggest but as the main beam only works when the headlamps are on then you would need to pick up the headlamp supply and main beam to make this work - I think????

Why would you want to earth the blue/white wire????????? You're going to start a fire..... You need to apply power to the blue/white wire.... Easier just to leave the beams in HIGH - and flick the lights on/off if you really must do this.

sorted it now, BMC. attached one end of the switch to an always-live terminal, and the other to the blue/white wire on the right side - now when i push my red button, i get a flash.
