Locking wheel nuts/bolts

Post by salmonchild »

Afternoon all, have searched through the forum but can't find the answer I am looking for so here goes...

Recently bought some minilite(esque) wheels for my '71 police Morris, deal came with 12 wheel nuts and 4 locking nuts. The problem I have is that the locking 'nuts' are infact locking 'bolts' and sat at my desk I have no idea how this would work. Do the supplied bolts require the removal of one of the wheel studs for installation, should I return them for nuts or is there another solution?

Any help would be gratefully received.

You won't be able to use a bolt in a Minor hub - there is no thread, the studs push in from behind the hub and have splines.

Cheers for the info, they came from Bull Motif so I assumed that they would know what they are doing regarding Minor parts.

Seems nothing is ever simple...

Thank you for the welcome, was a one time member of the MMOC, need to renew that and get back out with the club again- had great fun on the London Chapter Bridges Run yonks ago...

The wheels and nuts will be fine then -just some madness with the locking 'bolts' - give them a ring!
