As there is alot of advice, etc about insurance, and likely cost. You cant take the half that cost rule! As a rough estimate though about 700 tpft and 900 fully comp. But obvs a fair few factors effect this.

I am looking at buying at Morris Minor which is fitted with a 1275cc engine from a Morris Marina - is this a common conversion, and if so, are there significant increases in insurance costs? Are there are any common problems or issues to look out for with this combination? Is a new gearbox required, does it have to be the Marina gearbox, or will a Minor one work too?

The 1275 engine will increase the insurance on last years figures it was approximately 25% dearer with FJ.

phew, that sounds a lot nicer, I've been looking at around £1500 fully comp online.
