just fitted new dizzy
my girlfriend had issues with points and condensers failing on her moggy ,so i bit the bullett and fitted a acuspark electronic ignition one .,fitted to a recon 25d.i was worried about doing this in case i made a mistake .i got the rotor arm pointing to no 1 to start with, then removed the old unit .i fitted the the new one wired it up correctly only 2 wires to the coil in the right order.fitted new vacume advance pipe it had the pipe thing before that screws to the diafram .pulled the starter nothing ,flat battery she did not tell me .so a bit of swaring and got some jumpleads ,carry them in the modern !!. tryed again it tryed to fire so i retarded it a bit ,and it went .i then left it running for a while and got it ticking over nicley by backing off the dizzy .its running nicley now .cant test it propally she needs to tax it .but im well pleased i did something that i would have paid someone to do .a real sence of achevement .

Well done - but are you sure the vacuum advance is working as it should? Suck the pipe and watch to see if the baseplate moves back and forth.....
