temp gauge wiring

Post by moggiethouable »

Almost there, but puzzled by the "attach the cable from the temperature gauge to the light green wire".
My photo shows a veritable platoon of green wires, all mid green.
Can anyone point me towards which one please?[frame]Image[/frame]

The single wire going to the fuel gauge should be a 'lighter' green......

I Did get to look at this this morning.
I have a green and red cable and a mid green cable to the fuel gauge,(after I had wiped the dust gathered over 47 years off anyway) I attached the gauge cable to the striped item and got full reading from a cold engine,so I tried attaching to the mid green cable from the fuel gauge and the cold engine read about 70 degrees
The good news is the oil pressure gauge reads around 4 bar at 55 mph and 2 bar at idle, so that was a success I think and probably a lot more use than a temp gauge anyway.
I shall attempt again next weekend the wiring of the temp gauge as the missus quite rightly decided we should have a run out in the Morris, instead of me just "tinkering" so we took the Stokesley to Helmsley rd,probably one of Englands finest for touring and hairiest for motorcyclists.

On your picture above the green wire with the black connector sleeve is the one you need to piggy back to the temp gauge.

Thanks for that, I shall try it when the all too brief dry weather we had today returns, appreciated.
