Sorry, can't help with the question, but I love the title for the post - you'd need an awful lot of paint

Re: respray southampton
Re-sprays vary widely in price depending on whether you want a cheap blow-over (around £1,000) or a decent quality job (£3,000 plus). And it can also make a big difference if you decide to do the prep work yourself rather than pay someone else to do it for you.
Before you even think about re-sprays you need to find a car that is structurally sound first. Sometimes a cheaper scruffy car will be in a lot better condition than a nice shiny one so make sure that you check any potential purchase thoroughly as buying a rotten one could leave you with no money left to pay for a respray once you've sorted out the welding, panel replacement etc
If you haven't already seen it there's some useful info here about buying a Minor: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=37815

Take a glovebox cover (if fitted) with you to a local sprayshop. They should have colour charts. It "could" have been repainted in the GPO van yellow, but it's hard to work out from a picture on a computer screen

Looks pretty close to British Leyland Inca Yellow - see Austin Allegros or Triumph Spitfires of 1979-80

There used to be a good place that would match paint in Bursledon, near the post office. I'm afraid I can't remember what it was called.

I painted a TVR last year and this is inca yellow, however to get a match, you need to be careful.make sure you go to a reputable paint supplier, and ask if they guarantee a match. If you get stuck contact me(pm me)and i will supply you with a contact number, its a person who supplies my paint,he can match anything, the only draw back, unless you live near him,is you would have to send him something that has the paint on it.Good luck.
