New Quarter light seals

Post by SUE482 »

Hi I would appreciate help by anyone who has fitted new seals to the quarter lights
I have just renewed the seals on a 2 door stainless frame and am having great difficulty in fitting the quarter light back in, the top hinge wont line up with the screw holes without a great deal of compression. :x Is there a technique to this or is it just because they are new.

No it's not easy. I think I ended up fitting the bottom hinge first, then sliding the top hinge down from near the top.

BTW don't expect the new seals to stop the rain coming in, mine don't and required some 'Dum Dum' to close the gaps

Thanks Dave I did just that:
remove screws from top hinge in frame
slide slightly upwards
bottom hinge in first
fix the top hinge to quarter light
slide the top quarter light hinge into frame hinge
slide frame hinge down to line up with screw holes
Bobs your uncle :D
