painting your car

Post by peetee59 »

If anyone on here is painting their car and needs any help, please contact me and i will do my best to help.I worked for 30 years in the industry, and then went into HGV driving.I am currently waiting to prep my car for paint, its in teal blue, and if you need a supplier for paint, ask me and i know someone who is cheaper than anyone i know.I have just recieved a job lot for my car and the price was very good indeed.Painting a car is all about preperation, get that wrong and you will regret it,and you will have wasted a lot of money.I will be posting pics (if i can find out how to do it ) lol of the stages so those who dont know,it will help you i hope.Anyway i will go now,and i am here if i can help you.Dont worry i need help with adjusting my clutch and finding an oil leak, then i will need your help hahahahahah

Thanks very much :D

I have been doing a lot of reading up and have the stuff ready, and have painted a few smaller bits in the past.

I think the main problem is the fibreglass wings, and that they all have cracks in them to some extent so i will obviously have to take them all the way out and build it back up. I have just painted the engine bay for the new engine and it has come out ok, however time constraints (it is her daily driver) meant i could'nt take as long on it as i would have liked

I think the plan will be to take off one panel at a time, prep paint and refit so she can carry on driving the car and i only have to take it of the road for a couple of days at a time. Then when all of the panels are done i will take them all off, strip the car down inc. windows and interior and spray the shell.
