rollover jig

hello i want to rolll my car over to get it round the back with the wheels of so it will fit. i want to put it on a jig of somekind the car is very solid and needs no welding just needs repainting.i dont know how i can get it on its side without damging the paintwork once it has been resprayed as it needs to be on come kind of wheels to get it round the back does anybody have any idea how i could do this any help would be great

Sorry but it is not very clear what you want to do.
Do you need to get the car round the back of your house and the only way you can do it is to have it on its side with the wheels off - and you need a rollover jig that has wheels on?

Sounds like a very dangerous and fraught manoeuvre! You would obviously need to remove all fluids - probably remove engine and gearbox too...... And it will be a very unsteady when on the rig. A very level and smooth surface would be required!

hello yes i am taking the engine out and gearbox out and the wings of before i get it round just wondered if there was an easy way to do it

You and 2 or 3 mates can roll the car on it's side even with the engine in, the battery needs to come out and run it low on petrol first.
Take out anything loose, tools, spares and carpets too.
There are threads here about doing it.
When the weather gets better you could spend one weekend cleaning the bottom and the next painting it.
Even use the car during the week if your mates are game.

Rolling it over onto it's side is easy. Moving it when rolled over sounds difficult and dangerous unless you made up a special trolley to transport it on it's side.
Be cheaper to hire a crane!

i thought about rolling it on to a matress and putting it on a trolley and then move it will the matress damage the fresh paintwork?

any way of doing this then i cud take all the paint of and then just bring it back round with primer on.ontop of a matress and then spray it

I guess so! Even then - high risk of denting panels......Is it worth it??

What is the situation that makes you want to move the car behind the house?
My thought would be to work on it in the road as long as you can get extension cables long enough, over a weekend, then drop it back onto the wheels until the next weekend.

well the problem is the paint has all gone funny and its got about 10 layers of paint on so i need to strip it back to bare metal and start again so if i get it round the back i can keep it a place from the wet for the time being before the rust will set in then i can respary it altenratly i can do it on the road but will get all the cars dusty and be noisy to every one ? any help now?

How about friends or relatives places?
As has been suggested moving a car that has been rolled on it's side is going to be tricky to put it mildly.

Are there any of those places you can hire workshop space near you? They often have spraying equipment too.

hello no the paint is on top of the car and i think i may be able to do it at my friends farm it will be good thats where i sprayed it before cheers

no it had loads on already i just sprayed on top with prep of course so i will be doing it there thanks for your help
