Turn the quarter light window around until air is directed towards you.
Open a rear window a bit to get a good draught through the car.

As above - we told you before - turn the front quarterlights round so they act as scoops! I suppose you could also fit a fresh air trunk where the heater intake normally runs - but just use it to bring fresh air into the footwell of the car. Some Jap Minis had air-con fitted, so it would be possible to install that I suppose!

Do what the Swedes do and just drive in your natural uncovered attire! :o

Sandun - I think you need to convert your car into a convertible

Seriously though, windows open and quarter lights fully opened so they point forwards is a very effective way of getting fresh air into the car.

Strewth it gets hot inside the car in a British summer too - not when raining however. It's just a fact of life that in any car you drive, unless you have AC (which in my opinion is wasteful) the cabin temperature WILL increase in such a confined space. Add to that engine heat and the heater element going aswell - even though you don't have it switched on there is still hot water in the heater unless you turn the engine block tap off.

N.B. turning the heater tap or whatever directs water to the heater 'ON' will act as a secondary radiator and will aid engine cooling.

I used this trick in my old Austin Allegro with a shot radiator (the fins literally crumbled away when touched) and it worked every time.

I am pleased to say that that car is now being restored. :D

The best thing is to find somewhere shady to park the car, that makes a big difference as it takes a while to get rid of all the heat that builds up when It's been left cooking in the sun.
It might be worth getting a cover that will just go over the roof and windows for those times no shade is available.
Handy in the Monsoon season too!
