I see that this has turned into yet another thread where several people have tried very hard to help the original poster, only to be rebuffed and then ignored.

Not all advice given here will be sound; some may be plain wrong, some may be inappropriate due to either insufficient explananation by the original poster or simply because of the problem of diagnosis from many miles away, or because some faults can have many causes.

But in every case, it's a matter of courtesy that the original poster should at least acknowledge that help has been offered, answer follow-up questions, and let everyone know the outcome - even if the outcome is that the fault went away, was fixed by a garage, or was deemed not worth bothering about. Discourteous posters may just observe that future questions somehow don't get as much interest from those who might be able to help...

You're a wee bit hard Kevin. Sandun is struggling to run a very foreign car far from an easy supply of spares - except perhaps from some rather poorly made panels !! English is not his first language - and I suspect he is being told different stories about his car locally, and so has to wonder which advice to believe. He does PM me regularly - and I do my best to advise!

Perhaps just a little. Sandun, who I respect for trying to maintain his car in difficult circumstances, isn't by any means the only offender, but happened to be in the line of fire.

I do sometimes have to restrain myself from answering "RTFM". And sometimes I say it anyway, albeit usually slightly more politely.
