hey, if you have read some of my previous posts youll know i get offers of all sorts of stuff for cars
but....i have no idea if any of its suitable for the moggy
today i was offered a ford mk2 escort axle with discs, dif and leaf springs for nothing
any good......
theres a drive shaft too

If it is a mk2 escort axle, then yes it can be fitted. Much stronger than any minor axle, almost bullet proof. Will have a better ratio diff as standard 4.11, 3.9 or possibly even lower. And if it has discs on it then they are a rally mod. If you dont feel bad then sell them, worth quite alot! If not fit it as is, will have fantastic breaks. Jlh sell the fitting kit for it, and you can get a propshaft either made up for about £150, or jlh may sell one.

Hmm, they can snap halfshafts relatively easily.. And with a 1275 especially if driven at all enthusiastically.bmcecosse wrote:But unless you have major engine modifications in mind - the Minor axle is fine.

i have a spare morris shaft and the ford one im sure i can come up with something
