Boot latch support panel

Post by stag36587 »

Hello, I wonder if someone would be kind enough to send or take a photo showing me position of the support bracket in the saloon boot floor? The replacement panel is way bigger than necessary and I can't for the life of me work out what/how much to trim off - and also the relationship to the captive tube that takes the spare wheel clamp bolt? Is anyone following any of this?

Any help would be much appreciated,

Thanks

here's a couple of pics of what I mean. I'm assuming that fat bit that takes the silver latch should be flush with the boot aperture?[frame]Image[/frame]

This is how mine is, I had forgotten how much of a mess my boot floor is- red lead, dirt and rust!

How mine is positioned:[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]
Sorry they are not the best photo's-The red does not help clarity, but on mine the catch part has a large gap at the bottom for the wiring to go through , and at the top it sit more or less flush with the 'ridge' for the seal. The spare wheel bolt seems to be on the edge of the support panel if that makes sense? Probably need someone else to take some pictures just to check that mines correct :o !
