Hi,
I am refurbishing my 1964 Travellers rear compartment and previously used a product called dum-dum to seal and soundproof the wooden rear compartment floor. I did have a tub of this stuff but must have lost of it over the years and now it no longer appears to be available.
Can anyone suggest an alternative please? I was thinking about just using silicon sealant but was put off as it will "stick" the wooden panels rather than acting as a cushion.
Many thanks for any help with this.
Cheers,
Scott.

Dum Dum is still available. There is a link to a supplier on site somewhere. I know as I bought some late last year...............
Just need to find the receipt.

Sikalastomer 711 looks pretty good as an alternative

No, looks like it has now sold out. ESM have none in stock but are apparently trying to source a suitable alternative. Bull Motif still have large tins showing as in stock on their website (small tins all sold out). Also showing on Traveller Timbers website so might be worth giving them a call to see if they have any left in stock: http://www.travellertimbers.co.uk/prices.htmlscottymalotty wrote:Louise thanks for the link but did not find any on that site.

Re: Alternative to dum-dum
dont use silicone as it plays havoc with painted metal causing rust problems, and difficult to clean up, and can cause problems if having to paint at a later stage, try this if dum dum not available actually for windscreens but someone may have tried this and will let us know. Good motor factors should be able to get or kept in stock

Hi,
Just to let you know I eventually went with sticky pads from Sellotape and these seemed to do the trick. They are maybe a little lower once the boards are screwed back in place but not really a problem.
Thanks for you help and answers.
Cheers,
Scott
