air filter position for "warm weather"

Post by oddbod »

I think the air filter case,on my 65,has a winter and a summer setting,at the minute the intake pipe is almost touching the manifold, where should it be for warmer weather (as we have snow forecast for Tuesday, but this week has been hot I feel I will need to move it on an hourly basis) I can fabricate (well cut a piece of garden hose)a new tube for the breather from the rocker cover to the air filter case. :D

The intake should be turned so that it is drawing air from as close to the rad as it will go

Cheers Mike! Any offers on how to drift rear hub bearing in without tilting or scarring it? My tools are limited,if only bean cans were stronger! :D

Summer position is straight down - so it (hopefully) draws in cold air from the holes in the tie-plate - certainly NOT facing/near the radiator !

If the intake is facing the rad it will be force fed with ambiant air passing through it when the car is mobile

There won't be any 'force feeding' - and it will be heated air - having passed through the rad fins !
