chassis number

Post by lester »

i have what i think is the roughest splitscreen convertible, no numberplates or vin plate, is the chassis number stamped in the frame anywhere? bear in mind this car is so rotten. If i have no numbers on it am i stuffed or can i identify any other way. Bought it 18 months ago and only just got round to fetching it so for those interested ther will be some pics shortly for everyone's amusement! Seriously i am more than capable of putting it back together although it would horrify a lot of people.

There is a stamped plate just to the nearside upper edge of the bulk head. A user on here called POMMReg, can do some form of ID onto it, but it may only confirm year, colour and body style. He is quite knowledgable.

If you are lucky you might find a six figure number stamped on the engine bulkhead near the accelerator cable bracket. The full code should be FC? 11/XXXXXX. Do you know the year of the car? Is it an original convertible? Do you have any documents?
