Fuel vaporisation?

Post by JOWETTJAVELIN »

Recently, after stopping the engine at its working temperature, coming back in about 10-15 mins to start it again, the fuel pump clicks like mad and when the engine starts it is clearly being starved of fuel, i.e. splutters when idling and jerks when driving along. Shortly after this problem clears up and all is well.

This only ever happens when hot-starting.

The only thing I can think of is fuel vaporisation due to the hot weather and under-bonnet temps. The car does not overheat and the mixture is richer rather than weak. Float bowl not flooding and carb not leaking. The car never cuts out or shows symptoms of fuel starvation when stood in traffic.

Any ideas???

Here are some photos so you can see if I have the correct spacers between carb and manifold and offer your suggestions:[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]
