trafalgar blue paint

hi all , can anyone tell me where i lay my hands on trafalgar blue touch up paint , it would appear that there is 2 shades and i require the lighter of the 2

Not sure of the lighter code it's not well known, many a question has been asked on here someone will come along with the answer shortly i'm sure Louise the moderator is good with colours.

The problem with trafalgar blue is that there are two slightly different 'hues', both with the same paint code BU37. The earlier paint has a slight green tint and the later paint is a 'flatter' blue. There's been quite a bit of debate here as to when the colours changed but no-one has a definitive answer. And no doubt quite a few trafalgar blue cars have been resprayed over the years so it can get confusing!

The best way to get a decent match is to go to a company which mixes auto paint to order. If you take them a sample of the paint from your car (maybe the glove box lid) they should be able to match it although the exterior paint is likely to have faded over the years so even then it may not be a perfect match. As already mentioned, ESM sell touch up paint so it might be worth investing in a small pot just to see whether it matches your car - you might be lucky. If you don't fancy a gamble though contact them first to ask whether they can confirm if their trafalgar blue paint is the lighter 'hue'.

I have the same prob Bull Motif do spray cans but these are signicantly darker than what's on the car. We used to be able to have cellulose 'copied' locally but the supplier can't do it any more - they can order it but I don't what I'm going to get and want to order 4 litres. Which companies can still do the matching?
