Starter Cable

Post by Boomlander »

Hi Folks,
Just found that Jethro's starter motor feed cable is a bit worn and frayed.
Would a 16 square millimetre cable be heavy enough as a replacement? :-?

16 mm battery cable should be good to cope with 110 amps load.
Typical flexible battery cable ( pre-crimped with connectors ) is 25mm, capable of loads up to 170 amps.
If the car is " loaded " with electrical extras you may want extra capacity cable.

Thanks Bob,
I may as well go for the heavier 25mm cable to be on the safe side :D
