radio wiring harness (Ford Focus)

Post by jtd.75 »

This is not a morris but a ford focus issue, can anyone help me!! I am after a short lenght of wiring harness from a 2004/5 ford focus, I am after the bit that plugs into the back of the radio/cd (6006E sprint mnt europe). I have tried my local ford dealer ship and they say the only way that I will get one is from a srapyard. I have tried the local scrappys with no luck I have even tried the web and so far no luck again.

Hi Mark. no they are for after sales radio's (ISO adapter cables) eg not for standard radios fitted in cars by the manufactor.(oem) my local ford dealership has supplied me with a lead that will plug into the cars wiring loom(PC2-84-4) the plug on one end is ok but the plugs that go into the back of the radio do not. I have rang a lot of car audio shops and they say that i will not get one ad that I should try car distmantlers and if i get what i wanted i could make one up. The trouble that i have is that I want to take out a ford radio (6000) and fit an other ford radio (6006E) and both the sockets on either radio are not the same. and all the scrappers that i rang would not just sell me the plugs off radio wiring loom, they want to sell me the loom and the cheap quote i got was £80 for the loom

I should have guessed it wouldn't be that easy.
I'd have a chat with a radio fitting place rather than scrappers or main dealers, I bet they have a solution that doesn't cost £80!

I will try and see if i can find something similar on the we. I have a vidio on you tube on how to power up a 6006E on a work bench so now its just a question on locating the various plugs.

This seller seems to have the plug that you need. Trouble is they are selling the radio with it. Might be worth sending a message to see if they would consider selling the wiring & plugs separately or otherwise keep an eye on the price as it may be worth buying the whole thing if it stays low: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230755760430? ... 1423.l2649

hi i had this problem and my solution was to obtain a wiring diagram showing the out put diagram from the wires out of the radio and splicing these into a modern adapter and then into the other half ,does this make sense?
Cheers Alex

Just spotted the sellers response - seems the wiring pictured was nothing to do with the radio. There are quite a few people breaking Ford Focus's on ebay so maybe worth contacting them to see if they have the part you need?

Hi LM, I sent about 20 emails asking them and all but 1 said that they would only sell a complete harness or did not bother to reply. How ever the chap in Yorkshire said that he would cut the harness with the plugs on and let me have them for £5. He texted me today saying that he was posting them to me today I will let you know the outcome. Thanks for your imput.

plugs and a short bit of harness arrived all that is required now is the time to match up the existing harness to this and away we go. Thanks to L for telling me about various cars being scrapped (see above)

Glad to hear you've now got the part you need Jimmy, and for a fiver rather than the £60 / £80 you had been quoted! :D
