Travveler back doors

How do I adjust the back doors, they just keep jamming against each other and after well ment DIY I know cant shut them at all, it seems to me that they need some sanding, but maybe I can adjust the hinges some how.All tips appreciated.[frame][/frame]

Welcome to the messageboard. It might be useful to post up a photo showing the actual problem eg where exactly the jamming is occurring. Have the hinges been fitted correctly as if they are the wrong way round it would make a difference. The doors should be a snug fit - so you interlock them together and then gently push them shut the last few inches together - this minimises rattles on the road! Slacken the bolts going through the timber very slightly - and try this method of closing the doors. Once you have them set - clamber inside from the front - and tighten the bolts (at least the top ones) and then open the doors and tighten the lower ones. May take a few attempts - but don't do any 'sanding' unless all else fails.

Yes, that's right. They should meet together when the doors are a few inches short of closing - you then make sure they are seated in the right place, with the two door edges snugly together and then push together for the last few inches to close. There should be a little resisitance when you do this. The wood is flexible enough to cope with this and, as BMC says, it eliminates rattle etc. Almost certainly there is no need to sand the doors. It may take a while but you will get there if your keep going

Push the doors together then apply the knee cap at the same time turning the lock handle

Thanks for all the tips, I checked the hinges, there all in the right places, with some fiddeling around Ive now got them to close, Interesting to read that they are ment to jam a little.

The problem seemed to be the catch at the bottom of the door.Ive unscrewed the rod which means the doors only latch at the top but the close and fit fine now.

Well for security the bottom peg would be better to be engaged. I dare say brand new Travs from the factory had doors that just nested nicely - but there is much less rattling if you make them a tight fit together.
