Your Top 6 Classics?

Post by brucek »

Here's a wee bit of fun :lol:

A good friend of yours has just won a large amount of money on the Euro Millions lottery draw and wants to start their own classic car collection. Aside from the very obvious choice that her collection will include a Morris Minor, she asks you to suggest 6 more all-time classic cars to get her collection underway. What cars are you going to suggest to her! Here's mine:

* Series 1 E type Jaguar 4.2 Roadster (perfection)
* Triumph TR4A (probably my next restoration project :o )
* Morris Mini Cooper Series 1(sorry - it has to be a Morris, not the 'other' make - wouldn't seem right otherwise ) :lol:
* BMW 507 (sublime)
* Aston Martin DB5 convertible (ah, Mr Bond.....)
* Ferrari 250 GT lusso (smooooooth)

Over to you.......

One of my neighbours has a Jag XK140 coupe

That's at the top of my list but if the rumours about what he paid for it are true I would have to pick 5 cheaper cars to go with it.

doh! can't think why I forgot that off my list! It would have to be an estate for me though.
And maybe a P1800 in red with white stripe too.

Ooh now where to begin...
  • Austin Heavy 12/4 Tourer (in blue, can I assume that the Euromillions winner is also of the "Gumdrop generation?")
    Image
  • Alvis TD21 Drophead Coupe
    Image
  • Bentley Speed Six, with Vanden Plas touring coachwork, in green. Did they come in any other?
    Image
  • Jaguar MkII 3.8 converted in period by Coombs - a lighter hue seems to look best; there's a very nice one in 'primer grey' in this month's C&SC
    Image
  • Lagonda LG6
    Image
  • Lancia Aurelia B50
    Image
If she's won all that money, might I not be entitled to one of them as a 'finders fee? 'Err... how much did she win again? :lol:

Well that was a very pleasant way of spending an evening. If only all our problems were so much fun to solve!
Happy Minoring!

Sinclair C5. Well someone has to like them. There is one in every museum
Jaguar E Type Series 1 Roadster
Morgan +4 Flat Rad. Actually I have gone off Morgans since they wanted £40 each to get in to their 100 Anniversary Rally in Cheltenham
1934 Morgan Super Sports Three Wheeler
Morris Minor Series MM
1953 Morris Oxford Series MO
