Back in the day -I found them to be completely useless - possibly why they are no longer sold. Just wipe the windows with an anti-mist cloth.

having recently gone through the trials and tribulations with them, i have to agree with Roy on this one, the smiths ones are the best part of 30 and the stickiness has gone and they wont stick very well, and even when they do stick they are pretty close to useless.
wipe with an anti-mist cloth or if you are feeling plush with cash atm, you could get a new screen with the element built it from the lovely people at esm, not cheap mind you, but probably worth it if you are using the car in this lovely weather
