Re: Front wheel of MM 1000
He probably means that the trunnions wear and the wheel drops off, but it is not a problem if you grease and check the suspension regularly

Re: Front wheel of MM 1000
This is only a problem if the car has been desperately abused or neglected. Either prolonged used without greasing or accident damage. If there is no excessive play and you grease according to the service schedule, you are very unlikely to have any problems.

Re: Front wheel of MM 1000
If you grease the trunnions every time you take the wheels off and when you adjust the brakes then you will not have any problems.

Re: Front wheel of MM 1000
As Mike and Neil have said, this only happens when you regularly ignore routine maintenance and ignore the signs of wear which are evident whn you closely inspect the wheels etc. If you keep them greased and keep an eye out for excessive wear and tear you'll avoid any major problems.

Re: Front wheel of MM 1000
To 'arrive at terminus' (ie get you home) I have in the long past stuck the parts back together and then lashed my tow rope round the suspension to make sure it can't jump out again. It worked fine!

Judging by the pic you posted you have nothing to worry about. Very clean and orderly!
