therostat housing studs

hi can any one cofirm the thread size for the thermostat housing studs, ive drilled out the old broken ones, and now need to retap a new thread into the head, many thanks steve

5/16" UNC however 5/16" Whit is very very similar

I thought that they were 5/16 UNF (24tpi) UNC is 18tpi. Run the tap through the nut to make sure before you cut the thread.

The thread in the head is UNC. The upper thread on the stud where the nut goes is UNF.
