The best mod I've fitted I'd say is an alternator, especially if you are doing trafficy journeys in the dark. Also a heated rear screen is very handy. I've often wondered about a 5 speed box but worry I'd lose the character of the car... I love that first gear whine.... Other than that I'd agree with the 'original is best' theme

Have added a high level brake light to the saloon and trav.... I was not convinced until a mate of mine followed me and said he could actually SEE when I was braking (all I can say is that the modern driver must need everything in super bright halogens!)
