slight g/box leak
Noticed a slight leak (enough that I would like to stop it) from underneath my series 2 smooth case g/box it is coming from one of the hexagon fittings next to the drain plug .According to the manual it could either be one of the detent plugs or the shaft retainer ? what ever that is ,is it possible to unscrew the hexagon and seal the leak or is it a nono ,if it turns out to be the detent should I fit a new spring and ball if available while I am at it
Re: slight g/box leak
Wipe it clean and check for sure it's not just oil creeping along from the drain plug - or from the jiggle pin. And snug up the drain plug - and this hex.

Re: slight g/box leak
G/box is completely clean as I spent hours cleaning it so I am sure where the leak is coming from all other fittings including the drain plug are bone dry

Some PTFE tape might work wonders if it won't tighten up any more.
Just don't lose any bits when you remove it, no need to replace anything.

IIRC there should be a copper or fibre washer under the hex head.
