Series II wiper arms

Post by 54woody »

I'm installing new wiper arms on my car to replace the one (yes one) incorrect arm that the PO had on the car. This may be a silly question but I'd like to put these on correctly the first time. Referring to the attached photo, is the blade supposed to fit into the slot in the arm and slide forward so that the 'nose' the blade attachment hooks over the end of the arm? I assume the peg is then inserted into the round hole in the blade to hold it in place. Is the 'foot' of the peg supposed to at the top or the bottom (or does it matter)? Lastlty, the wiper arms have a bend so they are 'sided'. Which blade goes on which side of the car?[frame]Image[/frame]

The wiper blade and arm assemble are as in the photo, the peg fits from the top. The wiper assembly fits so that the blade is level with the bottom of the screen, obvious when you try to fit them.
Before fitting the arms, switch the wiper motor on and try to park the spindles at instant that they change direction from turning towards the centre of the screen, then fit the arms to the spindles, making sure that the arms are pushed as far onto the spindle as possible before tightening clamping nut, you may have to adjust the arm position to get it to park at the bottom of the screen before final tightening.
There is another rubber peg available without the triangular top
