Re: 8' brakes
If your 7" brakes are working fine, pass the MOT and stop the car, why bother changing them???

Re: 8' brakes
Sounds like the brakes just need an overhaul to me!minor57 wrote:the main problem is i used to drive a corsa with excellant brakes and i now drive a morris minor with errrr not masivly great brakes that pull left or right depending on the day lol. almost have to stamp on the pedals with almighty force before i get any great braking (passed mot like this) and ive been advised to get 8' drums to improve the brakes if they arent 8' already.

Re: 8' brakes
Come on guys - the 7" brakes are just about 'adequate' - but the later 8" brakes really are a good bit better and well worth having........

Re: 8' brakes

Re: 8' brakes
Who needs 8in brakes when you've got 9in brakes.
I thought that someone would bite at the offer of a pair of 8in brakes

Re: 8' brakes

Re: 8' brakes
managed to win the brakes on ebay just have to fit em now and hopefully notice the difference.
Re: 8' brakes
Check the cylinders are moving easily - and not 'weeping' which is the first sign of a leak developing. The same cylinders are used in the 7" brakes - so you can swap them if needs be.

Re: 8' brakes
you will also need the bigger snail cam adjusters for 8 inch ,you can use the smaller 7 inch but as soon as the shoes wear a bit you run out of adjustment.

Re: 8' brakes
This tale is going to need a happy ending
The Ebay deal complete
Hows about I deliver in person, help fit the beasts and report the findings of the performance upgrade on a student budget?
