captive nuts
yo dudes. well ive had some fun and games this week ,captive nuts completely seized ,turning in cages,crocodiles dont have faces as long as mine. got some new nuts from BM but theyre not square ,so they will turn also , so im wondering if anyone has any better ideas for securing rear wings, im thinking of using cavity wall / dry lining rawbolt from which u can remove screw if neccecary or poking a bolt through from inside and attaching wing with a nut, cheers steve

When I was doing up my friend's house, and we were doing it 'quickly', I built a wooden fireplace to cover up the 70's brown monstrosity that someone had put in where there was once a beautiful victorian fireplace. That was held on with 'no more nails'. I say was. I mean is. Ace stuff, great for quick bodge jobs!'no more nails'

try welding the nut to the inner wing part. that should stop them rotating
Yeah I was thinking of doing that, then putting the cage round it afterwards to make it 'look' original.
I took the rear wings off my '52 this weekend and a few of the captive nuts span in their cages. Unfortunately the only way I got round it was to have someone hold a spanner on the nut inside the car (after removing the cage) while I used a socket under the arch. Some had seized solid (even with liberal sprays of penetrating fluid) so I had to shear some of them off.
