riight looked in my rocker cover the other day and there was a slight bit of mayonaise, thought nothing of it condensation short drives etc, did a 120 mile round trip yesterday didnt skip a beat, looked in the rocker cover today and there was a slight bit of mayonaise then i put my finger in the rocker cover and there was a lining of mayo on the inside of the cover, but the engine runs perfectly and isnt losing water, the only source thing i can find that may cause excess damp in the oil is the fact that the dipstick only sits in the sump, theres is no resistant from a seal or the like when i remove or replace the dipstick. could this be leetting damp into the sump?

It won't be the dipstick unless you have to drive through a ford regularly.
What is the output from the heater like and does the car take a long time to warm up?
I'm thinking the thermostat may be missing or stuck open.

the heater takes a little while to warm right up but is quite warm once its warmed up, i dont drink through a ford often but i do live in a rural area where its common place to have water on the road.

Clean it all out -and clear the breathers - and yes as suggested fit a higher rated thermostat.

88 degrees...as opposed to normal 74 degrees.

when you say clean it out do you mean the oil aswell or just the rocker cover.

Just the rocker cover should do, as Roy says make sure the breather pipe is clear too and where it goes into the air filter, assuming you have the standard set up.

right started car this morning and it was misfiring a treat, disconnect the radio which i was halfway into installing and put the wiring back to normal , still misfire checked the plugs they all looked ok due to being brand new a few weeks back along with dizzy and ht leads, any suggestions im hoping it not a headgasket as im skint and it was running perfectly yesterday. started first time on the button.

Any of the plugs wet? Take each plug lead off in turn to determine which cylinders are not firing. Try another set of plugs - what make/type are the ones in the car? Also - check and reset valve gaps. And then test the compressions..........

no none of the plugs are wet and they are ngk sparkplugs, i just cant understand how this would come about over night, also how would i compression test?

It would be easy for me to blame the useless NGK plugs........but actually I rather doubt it. Try an old set of plugs. Any chance you have mixed up the spark plug leads? Did you have them disconnected at any time? To tet compressions - Ign OFF - turn the engine over with the starting handle and feel the compressions. Obviously all 4 should be equal......

right bit embarissing choke mechanism was stuck on, so it wasnt misfiring it was massivley overfuelly, cheers for the advice anyway lol

Running with a rich mixture tends to make the engine run colder, maybe the sticking choke was the original problem too?
You fuel consumption should be a lot better too
