Re: Real quick tire question (need advice quickly)
Are u still on a standard minor rim? Or wide van rims? In either case its a bit wider than ideal. And no way will they even be close to fitting on a standard rim. 155's or 145's needed. 165's can be fitted in an emergency.

Re: Real quick tire question (need advice quickly)
185 is the wideness 75 is the hight from rim 14 is size of wheel fairly wide but i carnt see a problem if you have wide rims 155s are more standard
Re: Real quick tire question (need advice quickly)
The tyre you list is FAR TOO WIDE for the Minor wheels. Ideally you want 145 X 14 but 155 are ok.

Re: New Real quick tire question (need advice quickly)
Greetings Rob,
The pictures and story on your other post reveal that not only are those tires at least ten years old but they are also the wrong size. They appear to be 5.60X14 bias ply, am I right? The worst part is their age; they're dangerous!
Now, as charlie_morris_minor has pointed out, the Firestone F560 was a popular tire back in the day and the size at 145X14 is perfect. The American supplier who has obtained the mould for these is doing Morris owners a big favour by reproducing them. Get yourself a set and mount them as soon as you can. I would not drive those old tires much further than around the block, on the highway or even the fast moving city streets you are risking an accident.
Have fun with your Morris.

I assume you have now edited the first post in the thread - which makes the replies look a bit odd...... but YES - these 145 Firestone tyres come well recommended - get a set!

Just a wild card to throw out - The wheels from a 70s Chevrolet Vega allegedly fit the Morris perfectly. ![Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: New Real quick tire question (need advice quickly)
Not just a whole lot of Chevy Vegas in the States, either. About two million were made and I pessimistically imagine most were junked when the Vega started getting bad press. Nevertheless -- Vega wheels might look neat on a Minor! But I imagine you'd need spacers if the wheels were too deeply dished.
Anyway. I'm hoping I can trade in my set of Wal-Mart-fitted 175s (on standard rims) and, getting a little money for them, maybe afford a full set of these lovely 145s or 155s that Firestone is making for us.

Re: New Real quick tire question (need advice quickly)
Well, the 145's from Coker Tire (Firestone mold) are back-ordered for several months. They must be making a new batch. The current tires on the car are steel belted radials, and yes they have age cracks -- thus the hurry to find new ones. I found some relatively cheap Toyo's online that are being shipped to me now, and I'll have those mounted and balanced for the time being. When next I can afford it, I'll put in and order for the 145's and wait for them to be made up.

I've got 185/70 14s on my truck, but I'm assuming these accommodated larger tires
