Rear Boot Reflector???

Post by CHILEAN MINOR »

Im on the lookout for a rear boot emblem with reflector for my 56. Ive come across the emblem, which seems to be readily available. BUT, can I find a reflector? No chance :( does anyone know where can I get one?

Also, who is the cheapest/best quality for parts? Ive come across Moss, Bull Motif, ESM and charles Ware, is this the usual traders?

I got one of the reflectors from Tom Roys, its not exactly the same profile as the original but it does fit the chrome. I think it was only about £1.

you cant get the original type reflectors anymore, you can get close ones that have a flat profile that will fit from some of the suppliers as David says

I bought a few from Tom Roy for friends in Greenock Car club during the summer. Part SV127 for £1.25 fits really well. Other suppliers will sell I am sure.

If you do find an original 'domed' one it's likely to be all faded and 'milky'

However you can bring them back a bit closer to original by sanding down with very fine wet and dry, then polishing with 'Brasso'

Takes a bit of time and patience though :)

One tip i would suggest, when comparing prices between the suppliers, do take into account the postage and the vat on the postage. There can be quite a difference in the final total.

If you read the club magazine you will find that there is a whole industry of suppliers of parts for Morris Minors
