You will need a v long arm to reach the bonnet release! Perhaps a fuse has blown? Do the brake lights and indicators still work? Unfortunately the fuses are under the bonnet.........

Does seem like fuse - or bad fuse holder connections. I don't see how else you can get to the release!

The bonnet release has been covered before. For security reasons we do not discuss it on open forum. You could try contacting the MMOC Technical Adviser - details in Minor Matters, be sure to quote your membership number when making contact.

Easiest first time speedo removal
Remove steering wheel
Remove glovebox liners
Slacken screws either side of speedo
Push speedo out from behind,
Unscrew speedo cable

Get the bonnet open first!
Refitting the rod with it shut is going to be challenging to put it mildly.

Maybe others have different ones but my glovebox liners have holes lined with the speedo screws. So need to remove, jsut loosen the screws and carefully pull

Exactly - but in this case it's most likely a fuse problem, so no need to touch the speedo anyway!

For the first time a person has to remove the speedo it is easiest to remove the glove box liners. Once he has removed them he can see how the speedo is secured and in future use the holes in the liners
