5-Day trip to the Isle of Man Easter weekend 2012.

Post by steve.ellis »

Members are very warmly invited to join Malcolm Richings (Minor Convertible), myself Steve Ellis (Minor Traveller), and our good ladies on an expedition to the Isle of Man.

I spent 5 days there this summer on a similar jaunt and can tell you the roads are just perfect for Minors. The voyage on the ferry made it quite an adventure but without that silly ‘driving on the wrong side of the road’ nonsense when you get there. Malcolm and I will put together some runs etc and the good news is that nothing is too far away because the Island is relatively small but offers many fantastic places to visit.

Please email me for further details at mail4ellis@yahoo.co.uk

Cheers. Steve Ellis & Malcolm Richings

Hi Steve, Count me in, I will be in touch. The Isle of Man is in the same time warp as the Morris Minor and those beautiful roads are just made for Moggies. Very much looking forward to it.

Hi Dave. We would be very pleased if you joined us for the trip to the beautiful Isle of Man. This often forgotten gem has so much to offer in the way of stunning scenery, when we are ambling along in our Moggies and reaching hidden bays like Niarbyl Bay, Glen Maye, and spotting wildlife such as seals and basking sharks at the Calf of Man. You will be able to ride on the horse drawn trams, the electric railway along the East Coast to Laxey and then to the very summit of Snaefell. The whole trip is very laid back and you can join organised trips or do your own thing, No Pressure!

Details as follows: The dates are 5th April to 9th April (flexible according to your needs). Accommodation at the 4star Mount Murray Hotel and Country Club on a 5 day/ 4 night Special Offer with http://www.booking.com £275 for a twin or double room with breakfast or £225 for single occupancy. Rooms are fast running out so early booking is essential for this hotel. However alternative accommodation is quite plentiful, at the moment. The terms are no deposit with free cancellation before the 3rd April.

Ferry bookings are being made with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Co. outgoing on the 11.15 ferry from Liverpool to Douglas and returning on the 15.00 ferry (flexible according to your needs) on a 5 day special offer priced of £178 and is payable in full when booking.

The ferry booking site is: http://www.steam-packet.com

Hi Steve

Are you still looking for additional companions, as my wife and I are very interested in joining you for what looks as if it could be a great long week end.

Hi Steve. Sorry for not contacting you direct but I have mislaid your phone number. As you told me you have some other classic cars joining the trip as well as the Minors, I have a couple of friends who have classic cars too and they have expressed an interest. Would it be OK for me to give them details?
