sorting out my Traveller

Post by crankshaft »

Hello out there. I have just replaced the rear axle on my Traveller, as it decided to split in half one day, and the wheels are now turning again. However, in the course of doing this, I discovered that both inner rear wings have gone beyond the point of no return. I think we have all experienced really poor quality, but expensive, workmanship when it comes to welding- or bodging, as it often is. I live in central Lancashire and would like to just hand it over to somewhere like Millenium Motors in Manchester for a thorough going over. However, funds don't really permit. Can anyone recommend somebody I can go to who will do a good job and get afair return?

Is it ONLY the rear inner wings? Have you surveyed the floor/chassis legs etc to find the true extent of what needs doing? look under the rear seat and remove the boot wood floor etc to see what's going on in there.

best check the rest of the underside and see that there isnt too much thats tried to retun to nature. ive always found the millenium guys in chorlton (manchester) to be very fair with their prices and the work is top notch, i had some welding done a few months back, i would of done it myself but i didnt have the room to get under and do it. sometimes it mite be worth spending the pennies and getting it done right. if in doubt phone them up and ask for a quote to do it for you, never know it may be cheeper than you think :)
