I can't really believe that! But give us more detail. I have used covers for some while (Stormforce) and have never had any "rotten" deteriation. The problem with covers is WIND, the ties tend to rub the paint work. Also condensation, even the most 'breathable' cover still gets condensation under. You must take off and air at least once a week.

its more or less used daily.. i just havent the room in the garage up with me.

its dry stored when the weather gets too bad, but i want to enjoy it for as much of the year as poss

My cover worked fine at first as far as rain was concerned - but deteriorated horribly in the SUN. After just a few months use it suddenly became hard and cracked all over on the surface facing south (most of it in fact) - becoming porous and brittle. It was indeed a Stormforce - - seems I should only have used it in rain - not exposed it to sun. There have been other similar reports. I certainly regret wasting £100 on it - and would never buy another.

OK! Yes, probably the sun will do more damage to a cover than rain! Yet the wood on a Traveller certainly needs sun protection; it's no good burning hot sun drying out the wood and damaging the surface. Problem! Actually, my Traveller is now garaged so I don't use the cover as much, only in winter when I throw the cover over for extra protection. Really, for a Traveller standing out in rain or sun I would still use a cover and risk cover damage; maybe not a saloon, but wood damage on a Traveller is expensive!

We have a breathable one for the Rover P4, it has ruined the roofs paint work. it made it dull and look dusty all the time, even when we gave it a good clean and polish
